Rainbow Nature Therapy

I created Rainbow Nature Therapy from a deep sense that we can find our way back to ourselves by forming a relationship with Nature as our teacher and guide. My role is to work with nature as a co-therapist to provide guidance and support during your journey through life’s many highs and lows, and everything in between. By connecting with Nature, we also connect with ourselves because we ARE Nature. By growing our connection with the land, we cultivate a sense of confidence and trust in our innate strengths, wisdom, and resilience. As this connection strengthens, we become more aware, conscientious, and able to embody our inner truth and purpose.

During our work together, you will develop tools and skills to implement in your daily routines and rhythms of life. Here are some specific things we might be addressing through our work together:

  • Strengthening self-esteem and connection with self
  • Strategizing wellness routines in nature
  • Emotional regulation strategies & grounding techniques
  • Increased awareness of mind-body connection

In our work together, I will support and guide you to increase awareness and access to your inner resources by intentionally connecting with Nature and developing a practice that you can incorporate into your daily roles, rituals, and routines in order to lead a more present and grounded life.

Ria Glassman MS, OTR/L

I have 10 years of experience supporting others in their growth and development in the home environment, schools, and community mental health. In 2023, I received my occupational therapy license from the California Board of Occupational Therapy. I decided to open a private practice to create a safe space where I can be in true collaboration with others, in a workplace that is healing to both myself and my clients (outdoors!), and to honor the intuitive, sacred, and restorative power of working with the land.

In addition to being an occupational therapist, I am also a visual artist, a mother of 2 cats, and a tide pool enthusiast. I enjoy drawing, painting, cooking, learning about consciousness, Jungian psychology, dreamwork, having deep conversations, exploring my goofy side, and of course, listening to the whispers of the earth.

Experiences in Nature are powerful teachers, additionally here is a summary of my formal education, training, and license information:

  • 2013 Drew University - Bachelor of Liberal Arts
  • 2022 Training in Psychotherapeutic Techniques with Older Adults
  • 2023 CSU Dominguez Hills - Masters of Occupational Therapy
  • 2023 California Occupational Therapist License: #25178
  • 2024 Center for Trauma and Embodiment - Trauma Informed Yoga Training ~ Certificate
  • 2024 Nature Based Experiential Interventions Workshop ~ Certificate
  • Therapeutic Nature-Based Interventions ~ Certificate through Somatic Nature Therapy Institute of Colorado
  • 2024-Present: Co-facilitator of Season Shifts Group

Why Nature?

There is a robust body of research that highlights the benefits of engaging with Nature, many of which are especially relevant due to the amount of indoor activities and technology we engage with on a daily basis. While the empirical evidence that Nature is healing is undeniable, engaging with Nature is also both an ancient practice and an intuitive and natural process (pun intended!). Many of us live fast-paced lifestyles and move through our routines  guided by our thinking minds.

Our work together will focus on the practice of shifting from thinking mode into a feeling mode, where we deepen our awareness of bodily or felt sensations by noticing what we sense on our skin, see, hear, smell, and taste in our surroundings, and how this relates to what we feel within our bodies.
